Changing an Access Policy used in Active Subscriptions

If you change an Access Policy that is used in Active Subscriptions by making it more restrictive than before, your existing subscribers may be affected.

Keep in mind that these subscribers may have already created and deployed applications based on your service, and may be unable to change them now. Even a seemingly small change to an access policy may completely break someone's code.

Also, keep in mind that a subscription may be a legal contract between you and the subscriber. This is especially important when offering paid services, or when supplying your own License Agreement through the Licenses tab in WebServius that makes guarantees about service functionality or availability. Changing the Access Policy while someone has an active subscription may violate the contract. Unfortunately, WebServius is unable to offer legal advice on this matter.

Therefore, it is highly recommended to avoid changing Access Policies that are used in active subscriptions. Instead, consider creating a new Access Policy that is a copy of the one you want to change.
