Call Rate Limiting

This is an optional feature which enables you to limit the rate at which each subscriber is able to make calls to your service. These limits apply to each subscription individually and are not affected by the usage of other subscriptions (if you require a limit affecting all subscribers, please see “Throttling” below).

You can also configure different call rate limits for different usage plans. For example, you might want to set up strict call rate limiting on a free plan and less or no limiting on a paid plan.

Calls made above the limit will be rejected by WebServius and will not be forwarded to your API. Subscribers will not be charged for rejected calls.

Throttling

If you would like to configure a global limit which affects all subscribers on a particular service, this can be done using the Throttling feature in Service Settings (click “Services” in the menu, select a service, and click on “Settings…”). For more information on Throttling, click here.
